Synopsis
A love story about two step-siblings, Yota and Kaoru. Long ago, Yota's mother married Kaoru's jazz-playing father, effectively merging the two families. Unfortunately, Kaoru's father skipped town, and Yota's mother passed away, but not before imparting a dying wish to her young son to take care of Kaoru.

I watched it for Satomi Natsukawa's tears, and as expected, the theme song is more touching than the movie itself.

Masami Nagasawa and Satoshi Tsumabuki are among my favourite actors of their generation and it was nice seeing them as younglings here, but that's about the novelty of this. Okinawa, nice, good actors, nice, sappy story, Scheiss.

No romance, just watching the stepsiblings going through their lives.
Yeah, Masami Nagasawa looks so freakin young and kawaii in here.
Ranked #16 of 19 on my 2006 list (January 7th, 2021)

The story checks all the genre tropes and won't surprise you if you've seen at least some of the genre but it's the cast that really elevates the movie. Satoshi Tsumabuki and… -
